Health & allergen disclaimer
If you or someone you shop for has a food allergy, always read the label on the package before eating. Rawly can be wrong, and product data can be missing, incomplete or out of date.
Rawly is information, not medical advice
Rawly helps you understand what is in food products. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, and it does not replace advice from a doctor, dietitian or allergist. Don't change a medical diet, or decide what someone with an allergy can eat, based on Rawly alone.
Allergens and diets
- Rawly never says a product is "safe" or "free from" an allergen. At most it says that an allergen was not found in the listed ingredients, which is not the same thing.
- Allergen and diet checks rely on the ingredient list and allergen statements in the product data. Recipes change, labels differ between countries, and "may contain" warnings are not always recorded.
- When data is missing or uncertain, Rawly shows a warning to check the label. Products read from a photo by AI are always marked "Read from your photo" and are never treated as clear for allergens.
- Halal and kosher status can't be checked from ingredients; look for certification on the package.
Flags and the Rawly Score
Ingredient flags summarise what published sources say about an ingredient, with a link to each source. Wording such as "is linked to" or "is associated with" means a source reports an association, not that the ingredient causes harm in normal use. The Rawly Score from 0 to 100 is our own informational assessment of how processed a product is and of its nutritional profile. It is not a health claim about any product, brand or person.
Product data
Most product data comes from Open Food Facts, a collaborative database anyone can edit. We do not check every product. Rawly shows where data comes from and when it was last updated; please tell us about errors.
Eating and wellbeing
Rawly celebrates habits, never restriction: there are no calorie targets and no weight tracking. If thinking about food causes you worry, please talk to someone: free, confidential support in your country is listed at findahelpline.com.
Emergencies
If someone has an allergic reaction, use their prescribed emergency medication if they have one and call your local emergency number (112 in the EU) straight away.
